Clotexia, Apixaban, is an oral direct factor Xa inhibitor that inhibits both free and clot-bound factor Xa, which is used for the prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation, treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) following knee or hip treatment. Clotexia was found to be the safest drug with reduced risks of major, intracranial, and gastrointestinal bleeding compared with another anticoagulants.
